This is my tribute to the funniest man to ever walk the planet, George Carlin, 71, who passed away on Sunday, June 22nd, 2008. He had an eventful career in the entertainment industry spanning six decades. He will not only be remembered for his contributions to comedy, but also for his free speech activism. I grew up with him on "Shining Time Station", and then grew older with his genius stand-up comedy routines about religion, politics, and as he put it, bullshit. Ok I have been lethargic in doing another video for my group for many reasons, but now I'm active and I finally did a video on the Marx Bros.' second best comedy, A Night At the Opera. Unlike the other films at MGM this movie was just perfect with the zany comedy, likeable lovers, and good music that I don't have to fast forward with irritation. It is also interesting to note that this is the first and only Marx Bros. film where Margaret Dumont does not drool over Groucho like she did in Duck Soup. In fact she downright detest him as he makes snide remarks and swindling her affections. This video was going to be more elaborate but for some reason the software wasn't working at the time so I am showing you a rough print.
