WARNING - Twisted Humour, Discretion Advised! This video was made by Nick Atkinson and Tony Daly for a Computer Science Multimedia project using Apple iMovie software. We took a very twisted film - Battle Royale - and turned it into a seemingly innocent comedy. The three main styles of cinema we have applied are... - Slapstick Comedy: The primary form of humour throughout the film, featuring Yakety Sax music and wacky sfx - Epic Action Film Style: The 'RUN! IT'S GODZILLA!' part, intended to be more realistic yet over-the-top in terms of sfx - You've Been Framed Style: Featuring Mr Sandman music, with many cuts in time with music and (questionably) appropriate canned laughter We also featured ourselves (and another person later to be edited out for worry of incriminating them) appearing to be watching the film, to give a funny sidetrack to the general viewings. Unfortunately the final quality appears a bit sketchy, so don't watch it fullscreen! The grainy video is mainly due to us having to use a DivX download of the film (the DVD rip we tried to use before had subtitles, and this would have spoiled the mood of the comedy as subtitles would have given different context). Still, we feel it came together really well by the end, and it was awesome fun to make. =] SONGS USED, IN ORDER: - Original BR intro music - Yakety Sax - Godzilla 'Attack Preparation' music - Mr Sandman by The Andrew Sisters - The Funeral March SFX RECORDED BY NICK, IN ORDER: - Dry heaving sound (0:57) - "This yours?" and "Aw HELL no" during epic part (1:37) - Whistling falling sound (4:41) - "Roughr?!" and "Raur!" Scooby-esque voice (5:07) - Explosion and "SMOKING KILLS" (5:30)

I made this with my best friend, ayscandy. We each used different anime and used audio from our own libraries, limewire, and www.homestarrunner.com. I used: Tenchi Muyo! OAV Wolf's Rain Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex ayscandy used: Inu-Yasha Cowboy Bebop As you may or may not notice, I got a little lazy with my lipsynching in some of the clips, but they still look all right -- just not perfect. I went a little overboard with the Tenchi Muyo clips, so maybe next time I make one of these, I'll just use that one anime. ^^ I probably will make another one at some point, because there were a lot of ideas I didn't put into this one (it was getting too long).
