In the comedy club set, from the early years, a late 80's taping, Terminator 2 had not come out yet; and Nervana the group wasn't a household word yet; thus we can set up the then-fictitious movie speal, in which goofy Buddy Holly glassses-shaped shades, coupled with the bit about him coming back (Hindu beliefs style) to play the stereo-typical Terminator starring role, thus, bringing us to the relevance in the Arnold-accented Buddy with a guitar. Good audiences, in the time period shown, always liked the bit; and the dunce groups..well what can you say? Dan's partners in goofiness in the "My Girl" parody are fellow comedic pro's Kent Bonham and Leo Morland. The three, along with others from our K.C. class (such as Brad Nelson, James Inman, Eddie Griffin, & Emory Emory), were putting in time on open microphone night, here, but were at the time also gigging in small area clubs booked by Edmund Johnson. These clubs included The Fireside in Sedalia; and Spanky's in Raytown. Simply put, it was a golden time in the Midwest for comedy and music/comedy. Stupid, nuisance, past times -like karaoke and rap - weren't as prevelant at the time. On some of the street performance footage, like Moondance, side kick George Echohawk did a little back-up singing and took some of the camera honors.
